Kaptivo raises $6 million to expand whiteboard collaboration technology into new markets. Global investors include Benhamou Global Ventures (BGV), Draper Esprit, and Generation Ventures
Kaptivo, the company bringing analog whiteboards into the digital enterprise collaboration space, today announced it has completed a $6 million round of financing. Benhamou Global Ventures (BGV) led the round alongside Draper Esprit and Generation Ventures. With the new funding, Kaptivo will expand its global presence through channel and strategic partnerships, accelerate product development, and continue to add world-class talent to the team.
“We are thrilled to have such a strong network of global investors who share our vision to enhance collaboration,” said Nic Lawrence, CEO of Kaptivo. “We can now expand our product offerings to serve the needs of the enterprise and education markets.”
The financing builds on an impressive year for Kaptivo, which deployed over 2000 devices globally, gained market momentum, expanded its VAR network, and secured major OEM partners including HP. Kaptivo empowers companies such as BlueJeans, Atlassian, and Deloitte, as well as educational institutions including George Washington University, Stanford University, and Florida Institute of Technology.
Kaptivo provides an elegant solution for collaboration, especially during video conference calls or remote teaching sessions. The sleek Kaptivo camera sits above a standard whiteboard to seamlessly capture images, live stream content, and integrate with video conferencing and productivity platforms including Slack and Trello. Whiteboard users get the communication and productivity benefits of a digital solution, without having to change how they naturally work.
Janice Roberts, Partner at Benhamou Global Ventures, said, “Kaptivo brings the most used offline collaboration method, the whiteboard, online with a sophisticated, yet frictionless solution.” Roberts continued, “The team has solved a universal problem enabling companies to greatly enhance the performance of their global organizations, secure and manage their most important information, and integrate with leading-edge productivity tools. The opportunity is enormous.”
